HIST Internship Training Policy

NOTE: All interns are requested not to do any job/classes while attending at HIST as we want your 4 1/2 hour time in class room and 3 to 4 hours at home doing assignments etc.


Attendance Policy:

90% Compulsory: Attendance must be 90%, failing to which your internship will be terminated; in case of emergency you should communicate to instructor, who will work with administration to help you out in such cases.

Interns will be issued a warning if they take more than 2 days off in a month.

Intern will be terminated if he/she gets three warning letters during the four months training.

Only Sunday is a day off, remainder six days classes will take place.

First Saturday of the month will be given off to all to facilitate interns who are coming from remote areas.

Based on the number of interns & weekly test results, training hours might be increased from 4 to 8 hours daily.

Candidate who regularly late for more than 5 minutes may not be allowed to attend that session.


Exceptions:

Leave without stipend can be taken if an intern submits proofs of interview calls like interview letters/emails or name of the person and his/her contact numbers who had arranged his/her interview and number of days he/she needed time off for interviews.

If he/she or someone in his/her family is sick and presents medical records to justify the reason of his/her absence. The management reserves the right to review the record and approve or disapprove it.

If an intern maintains 100% attendance in a month, he/she will be entitled for Rs. 500 bonus.


Timing Policy:

Morning shift will start from 9:00 AM and end at 1:25 PM, while afternoon shift will start at 1:35 PM and will end at 6:30 PM. Management expects from everyone to come on or before time. Instructor reserve the right not to allow late comers in the class.

This project is not a joint venture with any university thus there is no link between this project and point bus system of universities. Hidaya pays stipend to interns to cover their transportation cost.


Discipline Policy:

Try to use medium of communication in English. It will allow interns to polish their English communication skills which will help in job interviews and dealing with international customers.

All interns are required to turn off cell phones during their presence at Hidaya Institute of Science & Technology (HIST). This will allow all interns to concentrate on their work. All of you are advised to give the office numbers (022-2771492-93) to their relatives where they can call in case of any emergency.

Always maintain pin-drop silence – no louder talk or any noise, which may disturb the surrounding.

Clean your desk/computer yourself, on daily basis.

Friends/guests and relatives are not allowed inside the building, if need arise you may get permission from instructor, meet them outside and come back to work within ten minutes.

Before leaving for the day, make sure your computer, fan or any other device must be powered-off properly.

Intern should not use the computers for any non training related work.

Intern is expected not to be involved in any type of criminal, illegal, immoral or terrorist activities.  If Hidaya management find out about any such activities, intern will be terminated immediately.

Intern should not misuse/harm any of the Hidaya’s resources like: telephones, computers, building, documents and reputation etc.

Intern should not install, download any software on computer systems.

Intern should not try to open/repair any hardware device or software.  Should a need arise hardware team should be notified.

Intern should not be using Flash Disk (USB), CD-ROMs and floppies etc, without prior permission from Hardware team.

Male and female Interns may be present during the training; any immoral behavior will be the reason of immediate termination.

Intern should not disable antivirus, network connection or any service on any system.

Smoking and any type of drug usage is not allowed in premises of the building.

No hand bags, shoulder bags or any type of shopping bags are allowed in the training area.  In case you do bring, it should be given to security persons present at main gate.  You can collect it at the time of leaving.

No one will be allowed to go out of building without the permission of management until class is over.

All interns are required to work as a volunteer for at-least 20 hours during the four months training.


Testing & Assignments Policy:

Daily training comprises of theoretical instructions and practice assignments. Candidate may be asked to present practically on the overhead for the benefit of all the interns.

3 to 4 hours of home work will be given to interns daily. Interns will be required to present it to other interns.

Weekly tests will be conducted from topics covered. If an intern fails to appear in 02 weekly tests, he/she will be terminated.

For Software Development Training, If an intern avail below 20% in their 2 consecutive tests then Rs.1000/- will be deducted from his/her stipend.

For System/Network Administration Training, If an intern avail below 20% in their 2 consecutive tests then half of the stipend will be deducted from his/her stipend.

Intern must maintain a certain percentage in all the tests.  Intern can be terminated in case of on going poor performance.

Assignments will be given on daily basis so if somebody will not submit assignments on time maximum Rs.1000/- will be deducted from his/her stipend so try to work hard for completing your assignments.


On Completion of Training:

Hidaya Institute of Science and Technology (HIST) offers four months of training. On completion of four months training, Interns will have following opportunities based on their performance;

Hidaya may hire (paid position) as an Instructor or for development work at Hidaya Institute of Science & technology or at Hidaya Software House (HSH).

Offer Interns to continue as an intern for additional four months at Hidaya Software House (HSH)

Help in getting jobs at other software houses or other organizations/companies.


Note: all Interns who will be receiving tuition fee waiver or stipend at Hidaya, and if Hidaya decides to hire them will be required to stay at Hidaya minimum of one year.


Financial Assistance Policy:

This project is especially designed to benefit underprivileged youth. Candidates who come from a weaker financial background may apply for tuition assistance and stipend for day to day living, if they do qualify for zakat funds.

Once their financial condition is verified, such interns' tuition assistance and stipend for day to day expenses will be paid by HIDAYA.

Interns Rs.1000/- will be deducted from their monthly stipend as security deposit which will be given in the last month’s stipend.

The interns coming from a relatively stronger financial background who do not qualify for Zakat will be paying tuition and will not qualify for stipend.
